24th of July in Monticello!!

We had a awesome turn out in Monticello this year! All of grandpa and grandma's children made it down! We had dinners together, celebrated a couple birthdays, went to the parade! A big group of about 40 went river rafting in Moab. Chad and I were not able to make it so someone that went post some pics or you can see some on my mom's or Keri's blog! Sounds like they had tons of fun! It was good to see everyone. Look forward to more get togethers!!

Joining and Posting on this Blog

I thought I would put instructions on here about how to post messages to this blog. That way nobody has an excuse not to put SOMETHING on here periodically! :)

CREATE AN ACCOUNT
You should have received an invitation from me to join this blog. If you haven't then let me know and I will send you another one. On that invitation is a link with a bunch of numbers on it. Just click on that link and it will take you to a login page. If you already have a google account then just sign in. If you don't, click on the "create your account now" link. Follow the instructions and you now have access to this blog!

TO POST
Once you are logged in it will take you to the "Blogger Dashboard". You will see the Ramsay Family Blog listed on there with links below it. Click on "new post" and it will take you to another page. Put in the title of the post and type your message. To add pictures look at the icons along the top of the box and click on the box with the mountain scene. If you aren't sure what each icon is for, put your pointer over that box and wait a second. It will tell you what that box is for. After you click on the picture icon it will open another box. Click on "browse" and it will take you to your hard drive. Just find your picture, double click on it, and then click on "upload image". When you are finished typing your message then click on the orange "publish post" at the bottom of the page.

POSTING FROM THE FRONT PAGE
If you are viewing the blog and would like to post a message from there, just look at the top right hand corner of the top of the page. You will see your email address and then a "new post" link. Just click on it and type your message

EDITING YOUR POST
If you see your post and realize you need to make some changes, that is easy to fix! At the bottom of your post, next to "0 comments" you will see a little yellow pencil. Just click on that and it will take you to a screen to be able to edit your post.

ADDING COMMENTS TO POSTS
At the bottom of each post you see "0 comments" (or however many comments there may be). Click on that and you will see a box. Type in your comments and then click on "publish your comment"

Hopefully this information helps. If you are still having trouble or you would like to have something else explained in detail, please let me know.

Let's all make it a goal to post an update and a picture or two once a month so we can keep in better touch with each other. Our family is growing and this is a great way for us to stay close.

Thanks!

P.S. Does anyone who blogs often know if there is a way to have the comments show up on the same page under the posts? I thought that would be better than having to click a link and bring up a separate page to view the comments.

Monticello on the 24th

I was just wondering who was planning on going to Monticello for the 24th? I'm excited to be going with my family and I can't wait to see all of you! Reva is also going with her family, as is Liz and her family, and my Mom and Cal. So all the Las Vegas bunch will be there! I've also heard that Jason and Lori, Dan and Aleta, Regan and Wendy, and Jared and Melissa will be there with their families too. Anyone else?

I was talking to Lori this morning and she mention that Jason would like to see if the family is interested in going on a group river rafting trip? That sounds like a blast to me! The more that can go, the cheaper it will be. Let me know your thoughts!

I can't wait to see you all there!

ALEXIS' 3RD BIRTHDAY PARTY :)

Okay so I'm giving everyone a 2 week notice to mark your calendars! Alexis is turning 3 years old on July 9th :) I can't even believe it! We aren't completely sure what we are going to be doing for the party, we have a few different ideas and haven't decided.. But we know it is going to be on Saturday July 11th. We aren't completely sure about the time either.. But it will be around 3 or 4 probably. So far that is the time that will work best for people that have text me back.. If there is anyone that would like to come, but that time doesn't work, please give us some feedback! I'd love to have as many friends and family as possible, because last year she didn't really get to have a fun party or friends.. So we want to make it really fun for her! I am going to let everyone know as soon as we decide on what we are going to be doing for sure.. We are just trying to think of what will be funnest for the kids. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. Has anyone had a birthday party anywhere specific that turned out really good? Okay well I'll let everyone know, but just make sure to keep that date open! Thanks guys :)

Is Anyone Out There????

I haven't had much luck getting many family members to join this blog, much less to post anything. Does anyone have any ideas about how we can get this thing going? The personal blogs are GREAT and I love to look at them, but I think it's nice to have a central place to post things as well. I'm open to suggestions, so let me know! Thanks!

Erwin & Marie Family pics....

We had family pictures done in March. It was cloudy that day and a little cold. So the kids were freezing. Alexis was sick and not feeling well. Ami had to drive 10 hours to get here, without her husband who just could not make the long trip. All in all they were all good sports. We had not all been together for a picture since Kelly and Chad's wedding in 2007.

The kids took pics in Snowflake.....

We made a trip to Arizona to visit Ami during spring break. We passed through Snowflake and I told Kelly and Derek a little about how their Grandpa Ramsay was born there.
So on the way back home Kelly wanted to take some pics of the Snowflake sign. We almost passed this one up because her and Derek could not remember exactly where they had seen it.

We had my mom take this one and she completely chopped off the Snowflake part, we told her we need to give her photography lessons. Just kidding!

Thought we should share with everyone. The Ramsay blog is a little sparse of new posts, that must be because everyone is now on facebook. HA! HA!

A Night on the Town

A group of 23 of us took in some of the sites of Las Vegas. The group included Jason's Family, Liz's family, Celise's family, and Reva's family (and a couple of friends). Using Reva's employee discounts we went on the New York New York rollar coaster and visited the Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay. We also saw the new and improved volcano at the Mirage and a short show of the Bellagio Fountains (while sitting at a stop light).

Getting ready to go into the Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay

All the pictures inside the Shark Reef turned out bad because of the bad lighting, but here is the "after picture"

Mario Kart on the Wii was a huge hit (I really wish I had gotten a picture of the huge crowd of kids piled in the living room for it).

Jason and Nicolas playing table tennis

Jason hasn't celebrated Sheila's birthday with her since they were kids (and Lori never has), so they decided this was close enough (her birthday is Jan 22) and had an impromptu birthday party for her. By the way, it was 10:30 at night and she had to get out of bed for it. :)

American Idol Here We Come!

Jason and Lori took advantage of the Las Vegas local discount on Phantom of the Opera tickets for their family. Here is the vocal reinactment of one song from that great musical. Now I must warn you, you will not be able to tell who does it better - the so called "Professionals" or the "Amazing Traveling Ramsays"! And the video just get's better and better so be sure to watch till the end.

Jason Ramsay Family

Jason and Lori are in Las Vegas with their family so I had to make sure we got some of their pictures posted to this website. I made sure to get on their case about posting messages themselves, so now the pressure is on. :) (P.S. You all better post too, or I'll be nagging you next!)

Here are some really cute Senior Pictures of Shari. She graduated early (Dec 19th) but will still walk with her class. She is now job hunting and is applying for college at both BYU Idaho and Provo. We expect her to post on this site as soon as she gets her acceptance letter in about 3-4 weeks.

I had to post this AMAZING picture Josh took of the Rexburg Temple. He took this with his camera phone too! WOW!

Lori wants to make sure everyone has Nathan's address (and writes to him too!). He'll be home in July, so she says not to put it off (hint hint).

Jason and Lori send their love to everyone and an open invitation to visit before their house sells and they move.

New Additions to the Ramsay Family

So I've spent the last couple of hours browsing through all the family blogs and having a great time catching up with all of you. While doing so I discovered a lot of new babies that I didn't even know had been born yet! Yikes, what planet have I been on? So, I hope you parents don't mind, but I stole pictures off your individual blogs to put them here. :)

Here are the adorable new additions:

Nicole (Chad and Kelly) December 17th

Lyla (Jared and Melissa) November 18

Toren (Brady and Patrice) Nov 4th

Lucy (Jo and Alena) born Oct 29th

I don't have a picture, but we can't forget our number 100 Ramsay - Kate (Jeremy and Marni) born December 8th.

Also, Shae (Mark and Andrea) was born in August.

These are all the babies (that I know of) born since our last July 24th gathering. Congrats everyone!

Snow in Las Vegas!

Wow, it's been a crazy day. I know this won't mean a lot to you Utah and Colorado people, but we now know what snow looks like! We've gotten as much as 8 inches in some parts of town and the kids are having a ball. The craziest part is that the schools are closed for tomorrow now too! How funny is that - schools in Las Vegas get a snow day! Snow is so foreign here that we don't have snow plows so the roads are a mess. I'm sure glad I can just stay home. Reva took some pictures, so I'll post them when I can get them from her.
