A Night on the Town

A group of 23 of us took in some of the sites of Las Vegas. The group included Jason's Family, Liz's family, Celise's family, and Reva's family (and a couple of friends). Using Reva's employee discounts we went on the New York New York rollar coaster and visited the Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay. We also saw the new and improved volcano at the Mirage and a short show of the Bellagio Fountains (while sitting at a stop light).

All the pictures inside the Shark Reef turned out bad because of the bad lighting, but here is the "after picture"

Mario Kart on the Wii was a huge hit (I really wish I had gotten a picture of the huge crowd of kids piled in the living room for it).

Jason and Nicolas playing table tennis

Jason hasn't celebrated Sheila's birthday with her since they were kids (and Lori never has), so they decided this was close enough (her birthday is Jan 22) and had an impromptu birthday party for her. By the way, it was 10:30 at night and she had to get out of bed for it. :)

American Idol Here We Come!

Jason and Lori took advantage of the Las Vegas local discount on Phantom of the Opera tickets for their family. Here is the vocal reinactment of one song from that great musical. Now I must warn you, you will not be able to tell who does it better - the so called "Professionals" or the "Amazing Traveling Ramsays"! And the video just get's better and better so be sure to watch till the end.

Jason Ramsay Family

Jason and Lori are in Las Vegas with their family so I had to make sure we got some of their pictures posted to this website. I made sure to get on their case about posting messages themselves, so now the pressure is on. :) (P.S. You all better post too, or I'll be nagging you next!)

Here are some really cute Senior Pictures of Shari. She graduated early (Dec 19th) but will still walk with her class. She is now job hunting and is applying for college at both BYU Idaho and Provo. We expect her to post on this site as soon as she gets her acceptance letter in about 3-4 weeks.

I had to post this AMAZING picture Josh took of the Rexburg Temple. He took this with his camera phone too! WOW!

Lori wants to make sure everyone has Nathan's address (and writes to him too!). He'll be home in July, so she says not to put it off (hint hint).

New Additions to the Ramsay Family

So I've spent the last couple of hours browsing through all the family blogs and having a great time catching up with all of you. While doing so I discovered a lot of new babies that I didn't even know had been born yet! Yikes, what planet have I been on? So, I hope you parents don't mind, but I stole pictures off your individual blogs to put them here. :)

Here are the adorable new additions:

Nicole (Chad and Kelly) December 17th

Lyla (Jared and Melissa) November 18

Toren (Brady and Patrice) Nov 4th

Lucy (Jo and Alena) born Oct 29th

I don't have a picture, but we can't forget our number 100 Ramsay - Kate (Jeremy and Marni) born December 8th.

Also, Shae (Mark and Andrea) was born in August.

These are all the babies (that I know of) born since our last July 24th gathering. Congrats everyone!

Snow in Las Vegas!

Wow, it's been a crazy day. I know this won't mean a lot to you Utah and Colorado people, but we now know what snow looks like! We've gotten as much as 8 inches in some parts of town and the kids are having a ball. The craziest part is that the schools are closed for tomorrow now too! How funny is that - schools in Las Vegas get a snow day! Snow is so foreign here that we don't have snow plows so the roads are a mess. I'm sure glad I can just stay home. Reva took some pictures, so I'll post them when I can get them from her.

Toren Ralph Ramsay

Congratulations to Brady and Patrice for having a beautiful baby boy.
Toren Ralph Ramsay was born Tuesday, November 4th via C-Section at 6:40 A.M. weighing7 lbs 3 oz and is 19 inches long. If you would like to read and see more go to there family blog at bradyandpatrice.blogspot.com

There is some significance to Toren's middle name. Like Torren's grandfather and Brady's grandfather too he has the honor of carrying the name Ralph Ramsay. This name has been passed down from one generation to the next since the original Ralph Ramsay who was instrumental in building Zion in Utah. He carved the Eagle Gate Bridge in Salt Lake City, he did carpentry in the Manti Temple and Brigham Young's home along with others. He left his prosperity with a legacy of being a strong member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and his name will continue to be carried on through this sweet boy.
Congratulations again Brady and Patrice. We love you!

Family Calendar

I wanted to let you know that I updated the family calendar for October and November. There are two versions of the calendar on this blog. One is a smaller, quick view version, and the other is at the very bottom of the page. It is full size so you can see all the dates easier. I'm way behind on my to-do lists, so sorry (and happy birthday) to those we missed. If you can all go in and add your birthdays and special events, that would be wonderful - and would save me a lot of time. For those of you expecting babies, be sure to put your due dates in there too. To access the calendar you click on the "google calendar" link on the bottom right hand corner. I will email you all the user name and password. If you don't get my email, just contact me and I will give it to you. Happy posting!

New Blog Listed

FYI - I added the new Ryan and Kayla Allen Blog to the Family Blog list, so here's another one for us to keep tabs on. If there are any that I'm missing, please let me know so we can get it in the list too.

Just a quick update!

I have been watching Alexis for Jonanthon and Audrey while they went on their cruise. What fun having a little one in the house again. It was awesome, her and I just click. She watched The Water Horse a ton of times, she loves chasing Cocoa and jumping on the tramp. Grandkids are so sweet!
Erwin has been off work since the 17th. Him and Derek have been out every night trying to fill a cow elk tag, no luck yet. Erwin goes back to work the 24th. Nothing too eventful going on here. The leaves are starting to turn fall colors and the nights are getting chilly. Hope all is well with everyone, Marie

Work in Progress

I keep playing with this blog, trying to figure out fun ways to make it beneficial to all of us. I appreciate the feedback I've been receiving!

I took off the link for us to add our contact information for safety reasons. Dan Nielsen provided us a password protected link to access all that information, though. So just email Dan or me to get that username and password so you can access it.

I'm also trying to get a google calendar on there so we can see upcoming birthdays and special events. It's being difficult with size so right now we can only see a few letters of each person's name. I'll work on that and see if I can fix it. I could always put it somewhere else on the blog, but then we won't be able to see it as easily. I have to get some other things done so I can't play with it right now, but I'll try again later. Anyway, this whole blog is a work in progress and anyone who wants to help is welcome to. :)

WELCOME!

I thought it would be a good idea to have a general place for our family to keep up with each other again. Since myfamily.com started costing too much, and so many people have blogs, what better way than this?

For those of us (like me) who don't have blogs (yet?), we can post on this general Ramsay Family Blog. We will also have links to those who do have blogs all in one place to make everyone easier to keep track of.

I hope everyone likes this idea and contributes often. I always enjoy checking out the blogs to see how people are doing. I don't have everyone's email address, so please forward this on to whoever didn't receive the invite. Just let me know and I can add them on to be able to post.

Do we need to make this blog private so we can post all the contact information for everyone? I don't know if we have to worry about internet safety or spammers, but it might be better safe than sorry. I'm just worried that it would restrict access to family members, though. So if you are familiar with this feature, let me know what you think.

Any ideas and thought on how to make this blog great for all of us would be welcome and appreciated.

Love you all!
Celise

Newest Family Member!

I wanted to send out a huge welcome to the newest member of the Ramsay Clan, my dear brother Ryan! For those who weren't able to come to the wedding, here are just a couple of pictures. Thanks Landon, for being such a great photographer (and letting me steal all the pictures!)

Here's the You Tube links to the wedding video Dan Nielsen made for their N. Carolina reception. Pretty awesome job, Dan!!!
